About The Metropolitan Empire Casino London, Leicester Square
Now part of the Metropolitan Casinos Group the venue was previously part of the Caesars Group. The Empire is located in an old theatre in Leicester Square. Opened as the Empire Theatre in 1884 it had a massive seating capacity of 3,000. It was however rebuilt and reopened in 1928, and continues to show films, however the stalls are now part of a casino which Mecca Ltd opened in 2006. Prior to that it had been a Mecca dance hall, and unfortunately for visitors today, the building was gutted by Mecca for the conversion, so the original splendour has gone. The casino offers experience packages, as well as entertainment, and events. The usual table games are on offer as well as Pai Gow.
