About The Hippodrome Casino London, Cranbourn Street

The Hippodrome is situated in an old theatre. The Hippodrome opened in 1900 and was designed to hold an indoor circus. It later became a conventional theatre with a whopping 25 dressing rooms, and orchestra pit. It became music venue in the fifties, but was taken over by Peter Stringfellow in 1983, and reopened as a nightclub, although it closed due to loss of licence in 2007. The Casino opened in July 2012 after the interior underwent a restoration project which included ensuring the stage was ready for performing artists. The stage is now in use as the casino regularly has entertainment nights, so with a restaurant as well as gaming a night at the Hippodrome is a proper night out under one roof.
