Hands up if you remember when tombola was actually the first iteration of The Sun Bingo? Hands up if you remember when tombola formed out of the ashes of The Sun Bingo after it left for software new? Hands up if you remember the days before playmates and tombola arcade?
Well, if you put your hand up to any of the above, then you, like me, are a bingo veteran, which is apt, as tombola is also a bingo veteran and remains, for our money, the leading online bingo site and experience.
Well, today is tombola’s 14th birthday, and they’re celebrating that with a massive £14k jackpot being played at 9pm (Friday 26th August 2022 for you stragglers) and a bingo celebration night across their site. If you’ve never tried tombola, then this alone is a great reason to sign-up tonight, which you can do by visiting here
Personally, I love tombola because they have always been the one online bingo site that understands the retail bingo player. They’ve held this at the core of their offering since they began, and that is community, low stakes and an authentic passion for the game. Sure, they may not be as diverse with their range of side games as the others out there, but that’s fine. tombola’s not really about the slots, it’s about the bingo rooms, and the chat.
As a retail player that’s what I want, the club feel, the ability to chat with people between games (hang on, with this online version you can chat in game as well!) and decent prize money. In some cases retail bingo have eschewed their own values, letting players play multiple sets of tickets on electronic devices, getting away from that feeling that everyone has roughly the same chance. tombola, however, has stuck to its guns and kept things relatively even, and I hope it will do so for another 14 years!
